What does an eternal torture chamber say of the character of our God?
I am Brother Roger, an old, retired attorney living in Fort Worth, Texas. My tremendous, God-given wife of thirty-nine years died twenty-four years ago, and I miss her greatly. I am blessed with wonderful sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren.
Jesus drew me out of my “pig pen” in 1969 or 1970, when I was born again and became that “new creature” spoken of in 2 Corinthians 5:17. I wish now that I had recorded the exact day.
I began coming into an understanding of universal salvation — the restoration of all mankind — in the 1990s, after one of our nation’s leaders committed a terrible sin that became public. My first thought was, “Burn his little butt!” But Father Yahweh quickly let me know I needed to look at this through His eyes, so I prayed that He would help me understand it from His perspective. Scriptures I had read before without comprehending began to open with new light. Yes, that sin was terrible. It will be judged, and there are — and have been — consequences to pay. But in the end, Scripture confirms that Jesus (Yahshua, or Yeshua) is going to refine us all and conform mankind to His image. It will probably take a very long time.
I was born and raised in a small town in Oklahoma. I did not have a high I.Q., nor did I graduate at the top of my class. I have always struggled with grammar and spelling, and with organizing my thoughts into a clear, logical, and readable form. For that reason, I use AI to help assemble my thoughts and write my articles — and, of course, I review and edit them myself to make sure they faithfully express my understanding of Scripture. Having studied the subject of the universal restoration of all mankind since the 1990s, I can readily recognize when an AI-generated draft needs revision.
Our Savior tells us in John 16:13, “When He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth.” If He guides us into all truth, then surely He will guide us away from untruth as well. Yahweh tells us in Daniel 12:4 that in the last days “knowledge shall increase.” He does not warn us away from this increase in knowledge — the implication is that we are to use it, under the guidance of His Holy Spirit.
