Some Victorious Gospel Verses and Questions

Genesis 1:31 “God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

We believers would all agree that Father Yahweh is omniscient knowing the beginning and the end. How could a God who is good, and “good all the time,” say it is very good to burn and torture some of His created people for eternity with no hope of escape? Are we missing something about the traditional teaching of eternal hell and the Lake of Fire?

Genesis 12:1-3  Now Yahweh said to Abram, “Go forth from your country, and from your relatives and from your father’s house, to the land which I will show you; 2 and I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and so you shall be a blessing; 3  And I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”

Questions: Is there any limitation on the families, or is it all families, past, present and future?

Would it be a blessing on any family or family member to burn in hell or the lake of fire forever?

Matthew 5:21-26 “You have heard that the ancients were told, ‘YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER’ and ‘Whoever commits murder shall be liable to the court.’ 22  “But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the court; and whoever says to his brother, ‘You good-for-nothing,’ shall be guilty before the supreme court; and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell. 23  Therefore if you are presenting your offering at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24  leave your offering there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your offering. 25  Make friends quickly with your opponent at law while you are with him on the way, so that your opponent may not hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the officer, and you be thrown into prison. 26 Truly I say to you, you will not come out of there until you have paid up the last cent.”

Question: This is the first time our Savior is recorded as using the word gehenna which is translated as hell, and He tells us in the same paragraph that it is not going to last forever when He says “you will not come out of there until …” Therefore is hell, whatever it is, going to last forever? And, the “prison?” The very same prison described in 1 Peter 3:18-19 and 4:6, just another way of describing those held prisoner by their sin until they turn to Jesus/Yahshua.

Luke 2:9-11  And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. 10  But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; 11  for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Question: Would those burning in the Lake of Fire forever, or being annihilated in the Lake of Fire, agree that is good news of great joy for them, part of the “all people” class?

Psalm 22:27-29  All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to Yahweh, and all the families of the nations will worship before You. 28  For the kingdom is Yahweh’s and He rules over the nations. 29  All the prosperous of the earth will eat and worship, all those who go down to the dust will bow before Him, even he who cannot keep his soul alive.

Questions: Is that ultimate good news or bad news?

Could it fit within the preceding Luke 2:9-11 message of the angel to the shepherds?

Romans 11:32  For God has shut up all in disobedience so that He may show mercy to all.

Questions: Does all mean all in both cases?

Would it be merciful for our Creator to burn any of His disobedient creation a billion years, only to then commence another billion, or trillion, with no hope of recovery?

Will Yahweh use the Lake of Fire to show “mercy” to the wicked and annihilate them by simply  “putting them out of their misery?”

Psalm 145:8-10  Yahweh is gracious and merciful; slow to anger and great in lovingkindness. 9  Yahweh is good to all, and His mercies are over all His works. 10  All Your works shall give thanks to You, O Yahweh, and Your godly ones shall bless You.

Questions: Is all of mankind a “work” of Father Yahweh?

Does “all” mean all, and if not, why not?

Could “His mercies are over all His works” be what the apostle Paul had in mind when he, via divine inspiration, penned Romans 11:32?

Psalm 107: Question: Have you ever wondered about what will happen to those of Matthew 8:12, 22:13 and 25:30 who are cast into the outer darkness?

Psalm 107:10-16 “There were those who dwelt in darkness and in the shadow of death, prisoners in misery and chains, 11 because they had rebelled against the words of God and spurned the counsel of the Most High. 12  Therefore He humbled their heart with labor; they stumbled and there was none to help. 13  Then they cried out to Yahweh in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses. 14  He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death and broke their bands apart. 15  Let them give thanks to Yahweh for His lovingkindness, and for His wonders to the sons of men! 16  For He has shattered gates of bronze and cut bars of iron asunder.”

Question: Is it possible this Scripture has given us our answer, and if not, why not?

(See also Isaiah 42:7 and Luke 1:79)

Philippians 2:9-11  For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10  so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11  and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Questions: Is this forced or voluntary allegiance?

Does “every” mean every?

1 Corinthians 12:3  Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is accursed”; and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

Question: How is this passage related to Philippians 2:11, if it is?

Romans 10:9  that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;

Question: How is this passage related to Philippians 2:11, if it is?

The Greek word translated as “confess” (exomologeo) is used a total of 12 times in the New Testament always indicating a voluntary confession. The Strong’s concordance definition of the word reads “to acknowledge or (by implication of assent) agree fully: – confess, profess, promise.

Isaiah 45:21-25  “Declare and set forth your case; Indeed, let them consult together. Who has announced this from of old? Who has long since declared it? Is it not I, Yahweh? And there is no other God besides Me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is none except Me. 22  “Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; For I am God, and there is no other. 23  “I have sworn by Myself, the word has gone forth from My mouth in righteousness and will not turn back, that to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance. 24  “They will say of Me, ‘Only in Yahweh are righteousness and strength.’ Men will come to Him, and all who were angry at Him will be put to shame. 25  “In Yahweh all the offspring of Israel will be justified and will glory.”

Questions: Are we told in 1 Corinthians 12:3 (“ and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit”) that this swearing of allegiance can only come via the Holy Spirit?

Is this bowing of the knee and swearing of allegiance what the Apostle Paul had in mind in Philippians 2:10-11?

What is the job assignment of we Romans 9:6-8 Israelites as per Exodus 12:38 and Jeremiah 4:1-2?

Luke 19:10  “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Question: Would Yahshua’s report card read an A+ for seeking, and a F- for saving?

1 Corinthians 15:22-28  For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. 23  But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming, 24  then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power. 25  For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. 26  The last enemy that will be abolished is death. 27  For He has put all things in subjection under His feet. But when He says, “All things are put in subjection,” it is evident that He is excepted who put all things in subjection to Him. 28  When all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, so that God may be all in all.

Questions: As per Revelation 21:8 the Lake of Fire is the second death. Will it be destroyed?

What does it mean for God to be “all in all?”

Colossians 1:19-20  For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, 20  and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.

Question: Does “all things” include all of humanity, past, present and future, and if not, why not?

Does the word “reconcile” describe why Jesus came and the work He is doing?

1 Timothy 2:3-4  This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4  who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Question: Would it be okay with you if brother Roger desires the same thing as his

Father Yahweh, that is, for all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth, and if not, what Scripture says we are not to desire the same as our Father?

1 Timothy 4:10-11  For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers. 11  Prescribe and teach these things.

Question: Is it okay with you if brother Roger prescribes and teaches that our living God is the Savior of all of mankind?”

The Greek word translated as “especially” is used eleven times in Scripture and not once does in negate the rest of the verses in which it is used. What does that tell us?

I will eat (take in) all fruit, especially apples. Does that negate me “taking in” all other fruit?

1 Peter 4:6  For the gospel has for this purpose been preached even to those who are dead, that though they are judged in the flesh as men, they may live in the spirit according to the will of God.

Questions: How can the good news gospel be preached to a dead person?

Why would the good news gospel be preached to a dead person?

Do you believe Jesus can preach the gospel good news to a dead person, to the spirits of those destroyed in the flesh, in Noah’s day?

The primary rule of hermeneutics – If the plain sense makes sense seek no other sense. Otherwise the sense you get will probably be nonsense.

2 Peter 3:9  The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

Questions: Would it be okay with you if brother Roger desires the same thing as his

Father Yahweh, that is, for all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth?

Do you ever wonder if Yahweh ultimately gets what He wants and desires?

Revelation 5:13  And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying, “To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever.”

Question: Is it possible “every created thing” includes all of humanity past, present and  future, and if not, why not?

Revelation 21:5  And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.”

Questions: Could “making all things new” be part of the 2 Corinthians 5:17 process? (“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.” )

If your answer is “yes” would that be the only way we would want Adolph Hitler as a heavenly next door neighbor?

Isaiah 46:9-10  “Remember the former things long past, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me, 10 declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, ‘My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure‘;

Our planet began with darkness: Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2  The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.” Darkness Strong’s concordance: figuratively misery, destruction, death, ignorance, sorrow, wickedness.

Questions: (1) In Revelation 21:5 “He who sits on the throne said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new.’ And He said, ‘Write, for these words are faithful and true.’”

And, Genesis 1:31 (“the beginning”) reads “God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.”

So, Is Yahweh saying that when He, at the end, makes all things new (Revelation 21:5), then, as per Isaiah 46:10 ALL (including all people) will be “very good as at the beginning?”

(2) In 2 Peter 3:9 and 1 Timothy 2:3-4 (see above) He tells us His purpose and good pleasure, so, is it indeed to make all things (including all people) “very good” at the end (Revelation 21:5), just as He did at the beginning (Genesis 1:31)?

(3) If you have answered “yes” to the first two questions, could it be 1 Peter 3:18- 4:6 gives us a hint of how He will bring about His purpose and good pleasure?

Revelation 14:9-10 “Then another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.”

Questions: Do Jesus and His holy angels, a Greek word which can also mean messengers, go out for a daily viewing of this tormenting with fire and brimstone, once a day, a week, a month, etc.? Would they get tired and bored with viewing it for all of eternity? Is there another reason they are there, like …?

Psalm 92:14-15 “They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green, to declare that the LORD (Yahweh) is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.”

Question: Would it be right or unrighteous for Yahweh to torture, torment and burn people for all of eternity?

Mark 12:30 reads “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”

Question: How can we do that with a clear conscience if we believe He will torture, torment and burn any people for all of eternity?

Colossians 1:17 Jesus Created mankind out of Himself: Colossians 1:17, John 1:1-3, Hebrews 1:2, Romans 11:36.

Question: If Jesus is going to burn and torture the unbeliever in a lake of fire forever, then is He not burning, tormenting and torturing HIMSELF forever? Does that pass the common sense test?

Romans 15:21 “but as it is written, “they who had no news of him shall see, and they who have not heard shall understand.”

Question: Does not Paul’s  quote of Isaiah 52:15, a salvation chapter, tell us that all who have not heard of Jesus and His victorious gospel before their death will indeed hear it “on the other side” of death?

John 4:42 “and they were saying to the woman, ‘It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this One is indeed the Savior of the world.’”

1 John 4:14 “We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.” (The English word “world” is a translation of the Greek word kosmos which we would spell cosmos.)

Questions: Did the Samaritans know something most of Christendom does not yet understand? Did John get it right?

Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: …”

How much are you worth to those who love you, and to Yahweh who created you?

How much are others worth who you love, and to Yahweh who created them?

How much are those you hate worth to you, and to Yahweh who created them?

Would you want/desire the unbeliever to burn in hell, the lake of fire forever?

Yahshua has paid the ransom price for all of humanity, 1 Timothy 2:6. Does He not get what/who He paid for?

Yahweh is an all-knowing God who knows the beginning and the end.  Did Yahweh create everything from nothing only to leave us with evil/hurt, and some with hurt throughout eternity?

How can burring in hell forever be part of the greatest story ever told?

Why are so many Christians now using the phrase “eternal separation from God” to define hell instead of burning in hell forever?

What purpose would it serve to burn, torture and torment sinners in hell/the lake of fire forever with no hope of escape?

Would a just God torture, torment and burn the Jews murdered in the holocaust along with Adolf Hitler – same punishment, same conditions and same duration? After all, they all “died without Christ?”

Is your God the one from whom we need to be saved?

Brother Roger
